Enrolment Information

At Shenton College we welcome all prospective students from within our catchment area. Through our GATE program, a unique and successful program which supports academically gifted students, we also accept successful students from outside the catchment. Students in our catchment who didn’t gain a place in the GATE program, but who have been identified as gifted and talented, may apply to our HPL program, through a local selection process.

Year 7 Orientation and Enrolment Details

During the final year of primary school, we distribute relevant paperwork, and arrange for Year 6 students from various interested primary schools in the catchment to visit the College.

Term 2

Weeks 4 – 7: Each year in May and June, we visit a range of primary schools in our catchment. During the visits, Shenton College Middle School staff talk to primary school staff and students, and provide information and enrolment forms.

Term 3

COB Week 1: This is the deadline for the return of Year 7 Enrolment Forms to the Middle School Office.

Week 9: Assessment of applications to Shenton College are finalised and successful enrolments are confirmed.

OUT-OF-AREA ENROLMENTS

If the College has capacity to accept enrolments from outside our intake area, the following process is followed:

First priority is given to a child who has a sibling enrolled at the College in the current year (other than in the GATE program) and who lives nearest the College.

Second priority is given to a child who does not have a sibling enrolled at the College in the current year, or who has a sibling enrolled in the GATE program, and who lives nearest the College.

Please contact the College for further clarification about the process before completing any enrolment applications.

STUDENTS ON VISAS

If you have entered Australia on a visa, the College must view documents which clearly state a visa subclass for students, before any enrolment can be confirmed. Only those students with eligible visa numbers can be accepted. Please contact the College for further information about this.
