Today the boys travelled to Butler College in their round of 16 finals match. We lost three of our starters before the match, including Perth Glory squad superstars Daniel Walsh and Samim Fattahi, though we found replacements and restored balance to the force.
The match promised to be a physical encounter and it did not disappoint. The contests were hard and our boys were robust in response, winning the ball and shutting down their attacks. After a few early opportunities went begging, the boys found their rhythm (assisted by the breeze) and piled on the goals. Josh ban gave away a timely penalty (our first penalty this season) and our keeper Jared Teo denied them a chance to get one back. This really revved the boys up and we entered the break 5 goals to nil.
After the break we opened the scoring with another quick goal. We ended up 6-nil victors and are through to the quarter finals. Our next match will be upon the hallowed turf of Shenton College in approximately two weeks, so come down and enjoy the show.
