Shenton College Economics Student Tops the State

The Australian Economics Competition is facilitated by the UNSW Business School and has attracted over 9,000 high school students nationwide. The Competition, which encourages awareness of current economics, is conducted to enhance the development of general and specific skills and knowledge relating to Economics. It involves students undertaking a range of challenging and interesting questions set by academics from the UNSW Business School.

Economics student Callum Costello competed against a large number of Western Australian public and private school students in the Year 11 Division earlier this year, attaining a 99+ percentile score, and was the WA State winner for 2015.

He receives a prestigious trophy and $200 from the organising committee – a fine achievement!

This award recognizes Callum’s dedication and commitment; however it also recognizes the outstanding achievements of Shenton College teachers. Mr David Filmer is Callum’s teacher and Shemton recognize his outstanding on- going achievements in the field of Economics. Well done Dave.
