Last night our Junior finalists Paris Javid, Xavier Hill Wilson and Natasha Tonga outperformed the famously strong Newman Juniors in a close Semi Final debate.
In a split decision, four out of the five adjudicators gave the debate to Shenton on the basis that their arguments stepped through the consequences of the proposed decision more effectively.
This excellent team will now progress to the Grand Final which will be held at the UWA Club on Tuesday 1st September. They will be debating against Perth Modern School and will take the affirmative side of the topic: that we should ban religious organisations from providing drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
