To our Shenton Community
First of all can we please extend a warm thank you to our students for the manner in which they have negotiated school this week with interim restrictions in place. We are very proud of the mature and responsible way in which our students have worked together to show care for each other and our wider community this week.
Following the announcement last night from Premier McGowan, we wish to confirm for our community that masks will still be required for students next week, both at school and when travelling on public transport.
Masks are required to be worn by all staff at all schools and secondary school students, unless:
- the person has a physical, developmental or mental illness, injury, condition or disability which makes wearing a face-covering unsuitable;
- the person is communicating with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing and visibility of the mouth is essential for communication;
- engaged in strenuous or vigorous exercise;
- the person is consuming food, drink or medicine, provided that they are seated at the time.
We continue to make masks available to any students who are not able to provide their own.
